Reid & Writes is a group of seasoned musicians that plays original songs and tasty covers. The music is lively, heartfelt, melodic, rhythmic, and dynamic. Various styles make each song unique. Lyrics drawn from personal experience and Alberta landscapes convey universal themes. We have opened shows for folk legend Bill Bourne, Juno award winner Old Man Luedecke, and more recently, Jimmy and the Sleepers and James Gordon. They released an album of 12 original songs last year, entitled “For Heaven’s Sake” and have several videos on YouTube.
noon Celtic Routes
Lethbridge-based Celtic Routes are excited to be returning to the Lethbridge Rotary Dragon Boat Festival in 2024!
From our humble beginnings in 2017 as an Irish ballad duo with 2 guitars, Celtic Routes (www.celticroutes.band) have added fiddle, flutes, whistles, pipes, bodhran, spoons and strong vocals and harmonies to our ever-increasing repertoire of Irish, Scottish, East Coast and (now) Cornish music songs and stories. We love researching the stories behind the songs and songwriters, as well as the history behind the music, and sharing these stories as part of our performances.
We have delighted audiences, large and small throughout Southern Alberta from Crowsnest Pass to Medicine Hat and Cardston to Red Deer at festivals, cultural events, clubs, pubs and private functions, celebrating our Celtic music, songs, and stories. Lethbridge Rotary Dragon Boat Festival is an annual highlight for us, and we can’t wait to see everyone again this year!

Henderson Lake Park is a 47 hectare (117 acre) blend of relaxed leisure
and active recreation opportunities concentrated around a 60 acre
man-made lake. Paved and shale walking trails border Henderson
Lake, along with playgrounds, rest areas and picnic sites.
Concession is open during the summer months.
Henderson Park has been a focus of civic pride for more than 85
years. Originally developed for the 7th International Dry-Farming
Congress in 1912, it continues to be an attraction for special event
celebrations. The lake itself was originally a large slough. William
Henderson, the Mayor of Lethbridge during the early preparations
for the Farming Congress, was instrumental in initiating the
concept of Henderson Lake and a surrounding park.
It is home to the annual Dragon Boat Festival in july as well as Canada Day celebrations.
