Wil turns it up on Heart of Mine

E-mail Print
Calgary born, Vancouver Island based roots rock singer-songwriter Wil Mimnaugh, aka Wil has picked up the tempo on his latest CD “ Heart of Mine.”Click Here to Hear Wil
The new effort features a more of a rock feel thanks to prominent drums.
He has an appealing tenor voice and has collected a diverse set of new songs for this CD.
The CD starts with a reggae tinged Bo Diddley beat on “ Baby Talk,”  and maintains the energy  on “Gold.” It helps give the CD an exotic Danny Michel feel.
He slows things down slightly with “Walking Around,” which  has a haunting Beatles feel too it.
“Hey Now” gets a little heavier with a more psychedelic feel.
He even adds a little Mexican influence on “ In My Skin,” thanks to the catchy horn section.
The CD ends on two slower notes  on “Shipwrecked” and “Someday.”
overall, it is a solid, upbeat effort that goes down smooth.
