Lethbridge musicians raise money for AIDS awareness week

E-mail Print PDF

Several Southern Alberta  musicians took the stage to premiere a few new songs and raise a little money to fight AIDS for a good sized crowd of approximately 50, Dec.1.John Wort Hannam playing an AIDS awareness show. Photo by Richard Amery
There were a plethora of performers on stage, sharing their original music.

And while I missed Vista Park, Indio Saravanja, Johnpaul  Smith and Brenna Lowrie and Leeroy Stagger, I arrived in time to catch Karen Romanchuk.

She  played a short set of  familiar favourites as well as a brand new , upbeat country song.

John Wort Hannam followed with a quick set of original songs including a new song. He brought out a tenor guitar for one of the newer songs, which had a bluegrass sound to it.

Matt Robinson ended the evening with a set of original music, playing with a friend.

The proceeds from the show were donated to Partners In Health, whose mandate is to bring relief to the world’s poor.
Long and McQuade donated a guitar to be auctioned off at the event to help out as well.
