My Boy Rascal combines soul and pop

E-mail Print
My Boy Rascal aka Colby Ramsay bares his soul on his debut CD “ The Study of Animal Magicality.Click here to hear My Boy Rascal
His voice and guitar playing both have a real Dave Matthews feel.
He begins on a soulful note “OK” and carries on with the the relaxed feel on “Hold Your Hand.”
“The Plea,” powered by  mournful piano and an understated violin,  is reminiscent of Calgary  born, Vancouver Island based folk singer Wil.
there is more mournful piano on “Lost, which ends up helping give the CD a pretty consistent, laid back sound.
overall, the CD is a very relaxing listen  full of tenderly mellow guitar lines, some subdued strings ad vocals with a lot of soul.
