Shaela Miller gets ready to play. Photo by Richard AmeryIt is always fun to hear a Treeline/ Shaela Miller Threesome double bill.
A lot of people agreed as they packed the Slice, Dec. 22 to visit old friends and hear old favourites and some new material.

Treeline’s set started slowly then slowly build up the energy with a set featuring first set most of their CD ”Prairie Sentimentalist,” which had a lot of people dancing  in front of the stage.

Taylor Ackerman and Ryan Dyck traded lead guitar licks while Dyck sang most of the lyrics, while Tyler Bird and Clayton Smith kept a steady rhythm on stand up bass and drums respectively.

The Shaela Miller Threesome featuring Paul Holden on stand up bass, Tyler Bird on drums and  Taylor Ackerman on lead guitar and steel guitar also started slow with an older favourite “Vicious Bitches,” which had the audience chanting “Shaela, Shaela, Shaela,” right from the first chord.

Her set featured mostly originals with Johnny Cash and Patsy Cline hits thrown in for variety.
Taylor Ackerman also sang a couple and Miller added a couple new tracks including her latest song “Fix Me,” and  “Sentimental Cowboy,” which has been sped up since I last heard her play it.
She ended her last set of the night with “Don't have  A Friend in You No More.”
