Danielle Braund returns home to play intimate show

E-mail Print PDF

University of Lethbridge vocal graduate Danielle Braund returned home to play an intimate Boxing Day show for basically  a table full of friends and family at the Mocha Cabana.

She alternated on piano and guitar as she sang beautiful melodies during a set full of  originals from her new EP “Sunday Morning,” as well as some older songs.

James Oldenburg lent his guitar skills to several of her songs and she invited her friend Alexis up on stage to sing KT Tungstall’s “ Black Horse and the Cherry Tree.”

In addition to her pop powered originals she also  played a  couple covers  including a soulful Christmas song and Sugarland’s “ Stuck On You.” Danielle Braund and Alexis sing Black Horse and the Cherry Tree. Photo by Richard Amery

She also sang a beautiful version of  Johnny Nash’s “I Can See Clearly Now.”

She told a story about moving to Vancouver after a “horrible break-up ” and all of the  trouble she had living  there while writing the surprisingly up beat original “Keep on Believing,” before taking a break.
She will be playing again on New Year’s Eve at the Onion Bar and Grill.
