It’s the end of August, so that means it is time for Whoop Up Days. The entertainment begins on Tuesday with country star Aaron Lines. Canadian classic rockers Harlequin will be playing all kinds of their hits like “I Did It For Love” and “Superstitious Feeling” on Wednesday, Aug. 22 at 8 p.m. Aug. 23 is 
tribute night with Bon Jovi tribute Blaze of Glory and AC DC tribute Who Made Who following them.
Suite 33 open things up on Aug. 24 with Platinum Blonde following them at 9:30 p.m.
Kim Mitchell closes things off on Aug. 25 at 9:30 p.m DNR will be warming up the crowd for them at 7:30 p.m.
There are also a couple excellent rock/ punk shows on Wednesday.
The Owl Acoustic Lounge presents a return engagement from former Lethbridge based garage punk quartet, Fist City, local drum and bass duo Betterhalf including drummer Aaron Trozzo and bassist Silvana Campus and Hozac recording artists, Calgary synth powered punk/ power-pop band Teledrome will be playing. There is no cover for the show, but donations for the bands will be taken.
For those who like indie rock, The Slice has an excellent indie-rock show on Wednesday, Aug. 22 featuring Lethbridge bands Jesse and the Dandelions, the debut show from The Left Behinds ( Greg Wilson, Ryan Reese and Kathryn Smith) and Vancouver’s Yes Nice. There is a five dollar cover for the show.
Vancouver based indie folk act Jason and the Diatonics return to Lethbridge this week. They played Canada Day last year. But if you missed them, they play with Coldwater Road on Aug. 24 at the Slice. There will be a $10 cover.
Tonight, Lethbridge country band Rancho Deluxe host the open mic at the Slice. And if you like modern country music, Aaron Lines opens up Whoop-Up Days on the Gas King Stage at 8 p.m. The show is free with gate admission ($10 advance, $15 at the gate)
For something new, West Lethbridge celebrates Westfest, May 25 in the Save-On Foods parking lot.
The day long celebration includes a pancake breakfast, live music and BMX racing and fun for the whole family.
And last, but not least Liam Titcombe stops by the Slice, Monday, Aug. 27 before Joining bluesman Colin James ’s tour for a few dates. He has just released his latest CD “Cicada.”
