This weekend, a new exhibit of Len Komanac sculptures at the Potemkin Gallery (second floor 411 3 Ave S) opens on April 27. It will run until June 8. the opening reception is at 7:30 p.m.

But throughout the day April 27, the Bowman Arts Centre features the last ever sale featuring works  from over 200 individual artists who are members of four different handicrafts groups.
“The artists use the sale as a way to fund their art habit,” said Cheryl Atkinson, a member of the textiles surface design guild, who along with  members of the Chinook Woodturning Guild, Lethbridge Artists Club, Lethbridge Handicraft Guild of Weavers will have their works from the past year.
There will be one of a kind hand-weaving, paintings, drawings, textile, paper and mixed media arts and wood-turnings for viewing and for sale.
“ This is not really mass produced stuff,  it’s a lot more original. People don’t charge as much for them as they are worth so there are a lot of really good deals,” she continued.

The groups have been holding this sale since the 80s at least, though the groups have been in existence for a lot longer.
The sale takes place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Bowman Arts Centre
the event is so popular this year, that a second sale  will be talking place at the Westminster school (411-16th Street South) both Friday and Saturday to accommodate the overflow.

Members of the Oldman River Potter’s Guild, Lethbridge Artists  Club, Chinook Woodworkers and Lethbridge handicrafts guild will have their wares on display and for sale at Westminster School.
It encourages our members to  show and sell their works,” sad Potter’s Guild member Elaine Harrison.
“And it’s a place to get unique gifts,” she continued.
The sale at  the Westminster is 11 a.m.-9 p.m. on Friday, April 26 and  Saturday April 27  from 10 a.m.-7 p.m..
