I thought this show started at 9 p.m., but by the time I arrived they were winding thing sup with their most popular early ’80s hit “Too Bad,” which had a lot of people dancing in front of the stage and the rest of them dancing in their seats.

The original Slugs and frontman Tim Okos, who did a very good job of replacing, as much as you could replace the iconic and beloved frontman Doug Bennett who passed away in Calgary in 2004.

But Okos had a lot of charisma, dancing on stage and getting the audience to sing along with their hits in rounds.

They had an infectious reggae/ ska/ pop sound that just made you want to move around.

The wound down their set with their other big hit “Making It Work,” which had the audience singing along as well.

The band showed off multi-part vocal harmonies on the last song, before leaving the stage to rousing cheers for an encore. A couple of the fans and their merch people stood up and got the crowd to cheer even louder for an encore.

They happily obliged with a hot cover of Wooly Bully which they played after expressing their fascination with the Casino's stuffed buffalo mascot then played one last song from their debut album.
