E-mail Print

Local cartoonist Eric Dyck hopes his show of his art at Blueprint Records will give people a taste of what he is all about.
His art show of 12 of his favourite works on display at Blueprint Records opened in November and will run until Feb. 7.

Eric Dyck examines one of his Slaughterhouse Slough cartoons at Blueprint. Photo by Richard AmeryIt has some Slaughterhouse Slough comics and three or four groovy gig posters from 2001-2009,” Dyck described, who moved back to Alberta from Moncton where his wife was taking her degree. When he lived in Calgary, he was creating a lot of gig posters for venues like the Broken City.
He started a comic strip ‘Mon Qui Towne’  in 2007 reflecting his observations  of life as an Albertan relocating to the east coast.

He revamped it into a Lethbridge-centric comic, Slaughterhouse Slough.
“People were always asking me about New Brunswick, so this was a fun way to show them and  let them know I was thinking about them,” he continued adding the spirit has continued with Slaughterhouse Slough.

He followed his wife, Teri to Lethbridge for a job at Lethbridge College as well, where she accepted a position on the faculty.
“Being a freelance artist, I can  do that anywhere,’  he said, bristling with energy.

“ I’m looking forward to it explaining  a little bit of who I am,” he said.

He put together a mini-book of his works which is  for sale there.
His works are also online at
