Mega popular country pop duo the Florida Georgia Line are taking life one day at a time.
They seemed to explode out of nowhere with their 2012 CD “ Here’s To the Good Times,” which spawned numerous hits including “Cruise,” “ This is How We Roll,” “ Round Here” and “Here’s To The Good Times.”
The bring their “Here’s to the Good Times” tour to the Enmax Centre with Dallas Smith, April 17.
They began their headlining Here’s to The Good Times’ Tour in Abbotsford, April 9, and played Pentiction the next day.
“ It’s going good so far. The whole tour is bigger. We played to 7 to 8,000 people last night which is a lot bigger than the Commodore (in Vancouver) the last time we played ( in B.C.)” said Ormand Beach, Florida born Brian Kelley, who met Monroe Georgia born band mate Tyler Hubbard while attending Belmont University in Nashville.
“I’m very excited about the whole year,” he said.
“We definitely have a lot of influences from hip hop to christian rock to country. We just wanted to make a sound that was fresh and that you don’t hear anywhere else. It’s just really feel good music,” he continued adding most of their songs are country, except for a couple which have rap influences.
He didn’t know why Florida Georgia Line’s music caught on with fans so quickly.

“ We only look at it one day at a time. If you look any further, then you miss what’s right in front of you,” he said.
“ That’s why touring is so addictive - it’s different every night,” he said.
He said they have already written a half dozen songs for a new album, they hope to release by the end of the year.
“They’re awesome. Just kidding,” he laughed. We’re impressed with them. We‘re going to make a great album,” he said adding most of the new songs were co-written.
“The songwriting process is different every time. Sometimes it starts with a line or a verse or a chorus,” he said.
They are excited about the current tour and said people should come prepared to party.
“It’s going to be a big, huge, exciting show. We’re coming ready to party. We love our fans. You’re going to leave with your ears ringing and with no voice left from singing,” he promised.
