Trancide bring back shredding to Inferno for metal night

E-mail Print PDF

Metal shows at Inferno are pretty well attended, so their Burn Down the Night on May 23 did just that.

It featured a variety of bands including She Lives, SS DOOM and No More Moments and Trancide.

I was only able to catch Trancide out of  Trancide bringing back the art of shred. Photo by Richard Ameryall of those but was happy I did as I missed them at the Electric Eye Music Festival.

The young  quartet resurrected the spirit of progressive rock and ’80s guitar shredding.

They played a tight set of complex  instrumental music which leaned heavily on seven string guitar Joe Satriani and Steve Vai style guitar wankery.

It was impressive. I don’t see very many bands who shred anymore.

So it was very impressive from a purely technical standpoint.
