“ We both enjoy each other's songs a lot. He plays a few of mine and I play a few of his. It’s very relaxed. We get on stage and take turns playing. It’s a nice fit,” he said.

“ It’s a really informal song symposium,” he continued adding he plans to record a new album in September. So that means he will be playing new songs at South Country Fair.

“You have to let them out and see how they do,” he said.

“ I have a lot of friends out there, so it will be great to see everyone again,” he said.

Berner has busy since last performing in Lethbridge with Kris Demeanor. He had a new baby, is promoting his new novel, which has some references to South Country Fair and has toured Europe three times including a tour with Corb Lund in  February March all over Switzerland.

“ We’re both building up audiences over there, so we played everywhere from bars, cafes and punk rock squats. We were very pleased with it,” he said.
He is always excited to play South Country Fair and especially to do another show with Kris Demeanor.

They play throughout the weekend, but their big show is at 6:15 on the South Stage at the South Country Fair on Saturday, July 19.
