Fredericton folk/pop singer Andy Brown made a great impression on his first Lethbridge visit during his show at the Owl Acoustic Lounge, Aug.

After a long break he played an excellent bonus second set as opening act Jeremy Borschnex of Willhorse wasn’t able to make it, much to the chagrin of a few folks who came expecting to hear upbeat southern rock.
Instead they heard a lot of pleasant vocal melodies and pretty guitar playing from Brown, who played the bonus second set of original melancholy folk music. A lot of the set included songs from his latest CD “Tinman.”
He joked about the sad content of his songs noting he wrote the outstanding though still melancholy “Happiness” in response so someone who asked why he only writes sad songs.
He added a solid cover of Neil Young’s “Heart of Gold a then played a song that appeared on the TV show “Rookie Blue,” and played another highlight about sabotaging relationships.
He ended his show with a solid “What If From his CD “Tinman.”
