Darby and Joan Club make triumphant return to stage

E-mail Print PDF

Local indie rock band the Darby and Joan Club  returned to the stage, Feb. 21, 2015 at the Slice  after a year’s hiatus by playing crowd favourites and lots of new songs. Lorne Deimert and Robin Thiessen Hepher of the Darby and Joan Club. Photo by Richard Amery

It was their first show in three years, but a lot of people remembered them as they drew a good crowd for it.

They played lots of upbeat ambient rock, starting their set with a few older crowd favourites moved on to more rock influenced new songs.

Keyboards were more prevalent in the set. Bassist Silvana Campus sang haunting vocal harmonies to Lorne Deimert’s lead vocals. Robin Thiessen Hepher added extra keyboards and ambient guitar.

Aaron Trozzo held down the backbeat on drums.
