Piano in the park a highlight of Centric Music Festival

A touch of classical culture in Galt Gardens with Centric music festival.Tasha Toney plays piano in the park for the Centric music festival. Photo by Richard Amery
Classical music aficionados had a great week of concerts last weeks with the Centric Music Festival.

The only concert I caught featured some of the performers performing throughout the week, tickling the ivories on grand piano set up in the Galt Gardens pergola, Friday, June 26.

I caught the end of Theresa Thordarson’s beautiful performance of  Mozart’s  Sonata No. 8 in A Minor as Artistic Director Jesse Plessis turned the pages for her.

Tasha Toney, in a big sun hat shielding her from the sweltering sun, didn’t need any music as she performed Sergei Prokofiev  Sonata No. 1 in F Minor Op. 1.

I had to stick around for one more as Mexican pianist Luis Ramirez tackled a gorgeous performance of Chopin’s  Ballad No. 4 in F Minor Op. 52.
