Calgary’s the Hi Strung Downers got a good sized crowd dancing at Casino Lethbridge, Aug. 8 — the second of a two day run at the Casino.

They had a fantastic 1950’s feel as several grey haired couples shuffled and two stepped across the dance floor.

They had plenty of Gretsch powered twang and shuddering upright  bass blended with an unstoppable snare drum.

Frontmen/ guitarists Earl Garnet and Greasy Greg took turns singing lead vocals, when not singing, they’d harmonize with bassist Joe Love.

Drummer Terry Starchuk sang lead on one of the highlights of the set I caught.
