Winnipeg indie rock/ post punk band Hearing Trees’ first big tour of the west got off to a bit of a rocky start in Red Deer after some miscreant broke into their trailer and stole several of their instruments and belongings including a rare drum kit.Keep a look out for thise stolen drums.
But they are going to make the best of things for the rest of their tour which includes a Sept. 25 stop at the Owl Acoustic Lounge.
“It’s been a crazy morning,”  groaned frontman Graham Hnatiuk.

“ At the Sandman last night (Sept. 14) someone broke into our trailer and stole a bunch of our possessions, but it is the drums we’re really worried about,” he said, getting ready to head to Revelstoke for the next stop on the tour. The band rented the equipment they need from Long & McQuade in Calgary.

“We started a Gofundme campaign that’s getting a lot of support from our community in Winnipeg,” he said. It raised $1,210 in six hours.Keep a look out for thise stolen drums.

“Everything so far has been super fun and super amazing, but we woke up this morning with broken hearts,” he said.

The drums are hard to miss. They are a bright red aluminum kit  from a Canadian  drum company called U Drums. They are described as a Udrum Cherrybomb snare and one of drummer Kyle Kunkel's SJC floor toms.
