“Not really. There isn’t surfing here. But you can surf on Vancouver island, ” said Tubuloids guitarist/ vocalist Kevin  ‘Bitchen Kahuna’ Baxter, who, along with  guitarist Rob the Ripper, percussionist “Truckin’” Teddy and bassist “Big Wave” Dave, have been playing as the Tubuloids for three years.

“ We all played in punk and thrash bands and we all like surf music, so we though why not,” Baxter said.

“ The crowds we’ve got have been bitchin,'’’ said Baxter, noting the band just returned from a short and successful tour of Vancouver Island.
They come to  Lethbridge, Sept. 26 to play a show at the Moose Hall with No Coast Hardcore, Speed Demon and X Ray Cat.

“That went really well. It was great,” he said.
They released an EP “This Wave Sucks in 2014, a single Canadian Rock and Poison Gas Attack  which  attracted the attention of Beer City Records in Milwaukee which lead to releasing a split Ep with Japanese band Bronxxx, which attracted the attention of  Beer City Records in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

“ They wanted us to test the waters with that and now they want us to record a full length record for them,” Baxter said.

“We’ve got eight or nine songs. So we’ll record that in Vancouver  at Bully’s studio where we recorded the last  Eps when we get back from tour,” he said.

They are looking forward to  their first Lethbridge tour and while Baxter hadn’t heard of No Coast Hardcore, he is excited to hear them.
“It’s going to be a high energy show and lots of fun. And we’re loud. Very loud,” he said.
“Let’s party Lethbridge,” he enthused.
The show will begin at 7 p.m.. There will be a seven dollar cover.
