Tanner James reminisces in song

E-mail Print PDF

Taber born, Calgary based singer songwriter Tanner James played for an intimate audience at the Owl Acoustic Lounge, June 3.

As usually he played a  strong set of gently strummed guitar, pleasant melodies, heartfelt songs and plenty of stories.

He played one of my favourites “ What Girls Want,” prefacing it with a long story about being inspired to write it while at Lethbridge College.Tanner James at the Owl Acoustic Lounge, June 4. Photo by Richard Amery

In addition to his own songs, he sang a  few covers  including his show ending version of  Bruce Springsteen’s “ I’m on Fire” which he introduced by telling about joining a country cover band and playing Calgary Stampede gigs during which people requested Springsteen.
