Lots of fun with a surprise Ben Mahony show

E-mail Print PDF
I caught the end of a late announced Dec. 28 show at the Slice from Yukon songwriter Ben Mahony who entertained about a dozen people.
He ended a solo acoustic set with some pretty heartfelt, original material.
He turned his second set into a laid back jam session including Quint Viskup on bass. They played a touching tribute to George Michael by playing a jazzy version of his hit “Careless Whisper,” “ a jazzy version of  Bruce Cockburn’s “Lovers in a Dangerous Time,” as well as, on the more quirky side, Ween’s “Piss Up A Rope.”
