Del Barber returns for excellent Geomatic Attic show

E-mail Print PDF

I was pleased to have caught the end of an excellent set from Manitoba songwriter Del Barber at the Geomatic Attic, Nov. 17. But was saddened to not have heard more due to being on stage with Hatrix’s production of 12 Angry Jurors.

Del Barber plays the Geomatic Attic, Nov. 17.
But I arrived in time for a couple of songs from his 2012 CD “Headwaters” including “Right Side of the Wrong.”

He was joined by guitarist Grant Siemens and bassist Bernie Thiessen, who, together, sounded like a stripped down Blue Rodeo. They had approximately 50 people in the audience enjoying Barber’s intimate stories and songs.

He wound up his show with a catchy cover of John Prine’s “Spanish Pipedream.”
