Masters of Justice Play Metallica's hits

Vancouver based Metallica tribute Masters of Justice stopped by Average Joes, Saturday, Sept. 21. I arrived a little late to join a pretty intimate audience  for the show.

They were solid, they knew the music, they even resembled Metallica, but something was missing.

Their bassist had apparently just joined the band and put on the best show, even wandering onto the mostly empty dance floor. On stage, they showed a lot of energy and for set pieces, added a “Metal Up Your Ass” Toilet  with a dagger sticking out of it on the right hand side of the stage and what looked like an electric chair on the other side of the stage.

They played some deep cuts and a lot of familiar tracks like “ Master of Puppets,” got the audience to shout along with “ Seek and Destroy,” and they played the radio hits like “Unforgiven II” “One” and their cover of Bob Seger’s “ Turn The Page,” featuring the lead guitarist playing slide guitar with a beer bottle.

They were called back for an encore of Judas Priest’s “You Got Another Thing Coming” and Black Sabbath’s “ Paranoid.”
