The Lethbridge Folk Club kicked off 2020 with a sedate night of ethereal celtic music from Edmonton band Celtara, Saturday, Jan. 18 at the Lethbridge Folk Club Cave.
A decent crowd of approximately 70 people sat enraptured by ethereal vocal harmonies mixed with flute, fiddle and assortment of percussion and guitar.
Celtara played a tranquil and pleasant show of “Irish gossip songs” according to flautist/tin whistle player/ vocalist Tami Cooper, who harmonized beautifully with fiddler Bonnie Gregory.
Cooper promised to “go deeper” and were good for their word.
I wanted to see a lot of different shows, so cut out during a beautiful instrumental, which seemed to be winding down the set.
Kavanagh and Hepher opened the show, but I missed it.
