It’s powerful, catchy, and for someone who smiles so much on stage, has a lot of anger on it.
Kelliane Litchfield has a great voice and her husband Curtis Litchfield adds some heavily distorted guitars which complement the music.
And while she doesn’t cite Pat Benetar as an influence, she has absorbed a lot of Benetar’s attitude and presence, especially on the title track ‘Say It,’ which also has the a similar feel to Carrie Underwood’s ‘ Before He Cheats.’
And while the heavy guitars and haunting keyboards add an aura of Evanescence, her voice isn’t as operatic as Evanescenece’s Amy Lee, I still keep expecting her to launch into a version of ‘Hit Me With your Best Shot,’ especially after hearing ‘Can’t Stay Anymore.’
‘So Wrong,’ shows off her impressive vocals and the undeniable Pat Benetar influence.
She breaks away a lot from the rock on the last two ballads on the CD, which have more of a contemporary pop feel along the lines of Britney Spears or Christina Aguilera, which makes for an interesting contrast on the same CD.
