It was a big rock show at the Owl Acoustic Lounge, July 14, and while I missed the Void, I caught an energetic set by Planet Telex, who have tempered down their sound a little.
They borrowed Void drummer Dean Wilson for their set which began with a couple highlights from their new EP “Wednesday.”
“Hold Steady,” began an energetic set. They paid tribute to the Void by covering one of their songs, then they were back to their own music including one of my favourites “Money Tree,” from their previous CD “Nova” as well as all of their latest EP including “Riot.”
They also played a variety of covers including Motorhead’s “Ace of Spades.
