While I wanted to catch more of the Void, knowing I’d be seeing them again on June  6, I cut short their cd release party  to check out the new sound of Calgary based psychedelic rock band Devonian Gardens the at the Owl Acoustic Lounge, June 6.The Devonian Gardens returned to Lethbridge, May 31.  It has been a few years since I’ve seen them and I was very impressed.

I arrived in the middle of a psychedelic freakout powered by a vintage electric 12-string guitar. They were playing ’60s style psychedelic, innovative solos. The band members sang beautifully haunting vocal harmonies as they blended bass, 12 string guitars and keyboards.

For the last song, the one 12 string guitarist picked up a bass as the keyboardist picked up her own electric 12 string.
Local band Clockwork Towns opened the show, but unfortunately I missed them.
