Things were pretty mellow at the Owl Acoustic Lounge, Aug. 23 as Rusty Water and the Broken Troubadours laid down a mellow groove.

They Rusty Water and the Broken Troubadours. Photo by Richard Amerysounded like Pink Floyd playing roots music with lots of banjo and layers of laid back vocal harmonies.

the vocal harmonies were understated but effective and they created a patchwork quilt of old time country and roots mixed with mid ’70s roots rock like the Band, America and even some Canned Heat blended with more modern ambient  rock of the likes of the Shins.
