There is a reason be why classic rock dominates big summer festivals like Whoop-Up Days — because people actually turn out for it.

 So Average Joes was close to sold out for the return of Kenny Shields and Streetheart, May 30.

Kenny Shields, the most gracious frontman in Canada politely thanked the crowd for every round of applause following note perfect  renditions of all their hits and beloved obscurities.

 They began, fittingly with “Action,” and slowly built up the energy from there to fuel a time jump to the ’70s and ’80s for the nostalgic crowd.

“Miss Plaza Suite 99” was a highlight as was ‘Tin Soldier.”
 Shields also sang a newer solo hit ballad “To Love Somebody” as well as all of Streetheart’s beloved synth powered hits.

 He still has an appealing and powerful voice that still hits the same high notes he hit back in the day.
 There was a solid groove and lots of big guitar which kept the dance floor full.
