It has been a couple of years but Toronto based indie rock band Tokyo Police Club have returned with a brand new album
“Forcefield” and a tour which brings them to Average Joes with Said the Whale, Nov. 9.
“ It seems like a long time,” said Tokyo Police Club keyboardist/ guitarist Graham Wright.
They released the new CD in March four years after after releasing their last CD “Champ.”
“There was no real reason for it. It just takes as long as it takes. We were just not satisfied,” he continued.
“ It’s all part of the process. We were all being creative and we were all being restless,” he said.
“It’s the story of where we were at this point in time,” he said.
The band completed a European tour.
“ It was great. It feels fresh. It was a little smaller than usual but it’s been so long since we were there,” he continued adding he couldn’t remember the last time the band played Lethbridge.
He noted there is no underlying lyrical theme in the new CD.
“They are always snapshot of where we were at some particular point in time,” he said.
“We’re looking forward to seeing everyone,” he said of playing Lethbridge.
“ Tokyo Police Club and Said the Whale play Average Joes, Nov. 9, 2014. Tickets are $30.
