The Decoys rock for intimate audience

It is  disillusioning to see a talented band play to an empty room which happens more often than not, especially on a Monday night.

Nonetheless, Kamloops based,  organ powered, classic rock inspired rock band the Decoys still gave it their all for a handful of people at the Slice, March 23.

They played a tight set of catchy, upbeat, keyboard/ organ laden hook filled music, which while centred around frontman Matt Stanley’s songs and vocals which were enhanced by organist Kris Ruston.

“Ain’t Going to Let You Go” was one of many highlights as was the more pop influenced “ What Are You Thinking About Now?”
They tapped into a range of styles from’70 pop rock to a touch of punk and even some alt-country.

The wound down their set on a more acoustic note, but also added  some rock to it on one outstanding track “ Lighthouse” which brought their show to a close.
