Local rock band Dory and the Weathermen are always eager to lend a helping hand to a good cause. So they helped the University of Lethbridge Food Bank with a fun show at the Galt Museum, Friday, March 11.
While a lot of people had left or were in the process of leaving by the time I arrived, they had a good turnout of well dressed people at the event.
I caught their second set, which included a whole lot of Beatles covers including “Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club band,” “Get Back” and a rocking version of “Back in the USSR,” which began with jet engine sounds from the keyboardist Bruce MacKay which had a handful people dancing in front of the stage.
The second set also feature lot of electric mandolin from Allan Wilson, beginning with “ When You Say Nothing At All,” popularized by Alison Krauss.
