The Owl Acoustic Lounge was the place to be for alternative rock.

 On Saturday, they featured feminist punk band  Slut Prophet playing for local band Marigold’s tape release party, June 15.

 While I missed Marigold, and opening act Broke Til Friday’s first gig, I was impressed with Slut Prophet as always,  screaming out fem positive music that reminded me of the X Ray Spex, but sans saxophone and fellow Calgarians the Shiverettes.

 They played a tight set of hyperactive punk music that was enjoyable as always.
