Local band the Decadent Phase have an undying love for ’70s rock and roll. So much so that they have several tributes to different ’70s bands.
The band, who looked like they stepped right out of the ’70s, played a little bit of all of them for a full Owl Acoustic Lounge Nov. 23. I haven’t seen them for awhile, so this was the first time I saw Ian Morrice playing bass for them. He fit right in as expected.
Frontman James Swinney swung with the ’70s groove.
I caught them in the middle of a set break , but arrived in time for them to kick off their second set with the Rolling Stones “Miss You.”
They played a lot of other ’70s hits, but I was really impressed to hear them pull off Fleetwood Mac’s “Oh Well” with Tyler Eresman playing a solid bluesy solo.
