The local blues and roots musician just released his first full length CD “Perfect Vision” under the sobriquet “Taylor Ackerman’s Global Acid Reset.”
“I had a couple big shows coming up and I was going to release it anyway,” said Ackerman.

“I was was going to play the Slice with The Perpetrators on May 1, which seemed like a long ways away then, now it’s only four days away. And I was booked to play the South Country Fair, so I was going to release the CD to have them available for them. But the shows got cancelled,” he said.
“With kids and family and the band’s schedule, I don’t have the capacity to travel a lot,” he continued, noting he played most of the instruments and  sang most of the vocals himself.

‘That’s how I usually work anyway. I make demos and if they are any good, I bring them to the band to work out,” he continued, adding he worked with drummer Dustin Gergel on some of the nine songs on “Perfect Vision,” and got him to play on “One Day,” which also features Tyler Bird on bass and extra keyboards from James Phelan.

Keenan Pezderic  added high harmonies on  the first single “ Dead Animals.”
He also just released the first video from the CD for “Dead Animals,” which he filmed with local musician and videographer Aaron Trozzo.

“The music was all tracked by December, so I’ve just been mixing it since January,” he said adding the Cd will only be available online.

“I’d like to release it on CD or vinyl, but it’s cost prohibitive. I’d rather people just listen to it,” he said.

“I’m hoping some of the shows can be rescheduled for the fall. Because live is where you really want to consume music like this- upbeat and loud,” he said.

He started recording the CD last May.

All of the songs are original except for “L.O.V.E.,” which  was written by Halifax musician, Garrett Mason.

“He’s a crazy, crazy, crazy talented musician. He’s the son of Dutch Mason, who’s the prime minister of the blues. I got to know him in Halifax when I was living there. He doesn’t have a social media presence except for a few fan videos  and a really old album. He’s been doing an acoustic blues thing in Halifax,” Ackerman enthused.
“I’ve been singing that song around the house for a while and got my band to work on it.

“I turned it onto a more heavy, bluesy, stoner rock song, so I sent him a demo and asked him if it would be all right if I recorded it and he said yes. I don’t think he has even recorded it. So I’m really grateful to him,” he said.
The CD and his previous two EPS are available  on Bandcamp https://taylorackerman.bandcamp.com/
