Hippodrome gets crowd dancing into the holiday season

 Local disco/ R and B collective, Hippodrome had a sold out Owl Acoustic Lounge dancing in the Christmas season, Saturday, Dec. 23.

 They had 11 members on stage for this show including a new guitarist and a new percussionist plus regular powerhouse vocalists Juran Greene, Erica Hunt and Shawna  Romolliwa, kick ass rhythm section of bassist Paul Holden and drummer Brad Brouwer and a  top notch horn section including Don Robb and Ryan Heseltine.

 

 Greene, Romolliwa and Hunt, hot off the stage from New West Theatre’s production of “Elf: The Musical” traded lead vocals on a variety of ’60s R and B and ’70’s disco hits like “ Car Wash,” which Hunt belted out.

 All three belted out “ That’s The Way I Like It.”

 

Greene crooned “ I Heard it Through the Grapevine ”

 

 Shawna Romolliwa shone  singing Steve Wonder’s “ Signed Sealed and Delivered.”

Hippodrome will be at the Slice with Adequate on Jan. 6.
