Auditions for the sequel to the  popular comedy are Monday, March 26 at the LSCO at 7 p.m.

“ It’s the sequel to Nunsense. It’s a thank you concert that takes place six weeks after the original concert, ” said director Rita Peterson, who is excited to perform at McNally School.
“ It’s a great space. It really suits this play which takes place in a Hoboken nunnery,” she said.

“They’re excited to have us  and there  could be future collaborations,” she said.

“The last production of Nunsense was a success. So we wanted to do the sequel,” Peterson continued.

Nunsense 2 pickup where  Nunsense left off— with the nuns performing a fundraising concert to bury their dead sisters who died from food poisoning and with Sister Mary Amnesia regaining her memory.

“ She  remembers she is part of  a different order— the Franciscans,” Peterson said, noting the same characters return — Mother Superior  Sister Mary Regina, Sister Mary Hubert the second in command, Sister Robert Ann, the tough, streetwise Brooklyn born nun, Sister Mary Paula/ Amnesia and spotlight seeking Sister Mary Leo.

Also needed are a spotlight operator and a non speaking stage manager who throws rocks at the stage and does some other physical comedy.

Musically, Jillian Bracken returns as  pianist and Sandra Brunelle returns as vocal coach.

“I’d like to have this cast Monday as we want to have at least a read through next week,” Peterson said.
