A canoe painted with hands dominates one half of the main gallery at Casa forKari Lehr and  Karen Tamminga-Paton’s exhibit “Beloved.”
“‘Beloved’ is about the feelings of disconnect and fracture,” said Casa curator Darcy Logan.

“Karen has focused on  all of the people who have supported her in her life,” observed Casa curator Darcy Logan, looking at the canoe adorned with huge painted hands on either side.

“Kari has mostly focused more intimate family scenes and on paintings of her daughter,” he added.
 The exhibit runs until Aug. 24 in one half of the main gallery at Casa.

 
 The opening reception is 7-9 p.m. at Casa for  Kari Lehr and Karen Tamminga-Paton’s ‘Beloved” in the main gallery, as well as C Blake Everneden’s “Cinematic Imaginings”  and for Robert Bechtel’s “Lineage,”  Peak Support Services art classes “Monsters” in the Concourse showcase and  Alison Grigg’s  group show “Do Not Touch The Art,” in the Passage Gallery.
