Musicans Mike Edel and Tyson Mostenbocker met while skiing the Alps in northern Germany, found kindred spirits in each other and decided to tour together. They will be sharing a band and bringing the “Marching Ranges Tour,” to Lethbridge for the first time, Oct. 17 at the Slice.
They are beginning their tour in California.
“We’re going up and down North America, so it’s going to be pretty sweet,” Edel said, rehearsing with the band and Mostenbocker in Santa Monica before embarking on their tour.
“It’s going to be a lot of fun, we have like 30 dates in a row,” he said adding they are looking forward to crossing a couple mountain ranges during their tour.
“But I’m looking forward to being back in Alberta,” he said.
“We‘re sharing a band on this tour,” he said,” adding they will be each playing sets of their own music backed by the same rhythm section.
Edel played a solo acoustic show at the Owl Acoustic Lounge last time he was in Lethbridge.
“I’m really stoked to be coming back there with Tyson. We’ve become really good friends.
The Linden, Alberta born Edel relocated to Victoria and recorded his debut CD “the Last Of Our Mountains” in famed Vancouver studio, Mushroom Studios, under the tutelage of Hey Ocean and Hannah Georgas producer Winston Hauschild.
“ He worked with Hannah Georgas and she’s great. She has a great voice,” Edel said.
“He’s a great guy and he did a great job on my CD. He has a really good pop sensibility. He can take a song and make it catchy,” he said adding he only had a few things on Edel’s songs.
