For something a little more country with quite a bit of rock and roll, New Brunswick born/ Calgary based country singer returned to Average Julian Austin rocking it country style. Photo by Richard AmeryJoes,” Oct. 22.

I arrived in the middle of a rocking cover of Johnny Cash’s “Folsom Prison Blues,” After which the burly and beaming country singer., outfitted in an Iron Maiden T-Shirt and big black cowboy hat, sent  out one of several rocking country cuts out to all the ladies in the audience including the outstanding original “She Knows About Cryin’.”

He played a selection of originals including the beautiful “Harbour Town, then amped up several country hits including Hal Ketchum’s “Small Town Saturday Night.”

Julian Austin watches two costumed characters dancing in front of the stage during his show. Photo by Richard AmeryHe watched a pair of guys , getting into some early Halloween spirit, dressed in tuxedos with no faces dancing in front of the stage and observed he had never seen anything like it before at one of his shows.

Then he laid into his set again with a couple countrified classic rock hits  including Queen’s “Fat Bottomed Girls.”
Then he sent another upbeat original out to the ladies, called “Pussycat” off his “Bulletproof CD, which came out a few years back.
