Despite a lot of other great shows happeneing, I didn’t want to miss Montreal psychobilly trio the Brains at Bo Diddly’s, May 24. I caught the last half of their show of high octane rockabilly inspired punk.
They had a good sized crowd clustered in front of the stage , who moved aside as a mosh pit started near the end of the set.
They were a lot of fun and most of the audience shouted along with most of the lyrics. they played a supremely tight set full of energy and lots of rockabilly licks.
They ended their set with a couple of spirited covers of the Stray Cats’ “Rock This Town,” and one other. Bent 8 opened the show, but unfortunately I missed them.
