Things are going to get pretty heavy and loud when Vancouver heavy metal band Tribune return to the Slice, April 26.
They love good fantasy, harmonized guitars and just a touch of death metal and will be sharing all of that at the show with with SS Doom, formerly Sacred Savage, plus Trancide and MK Ultra.
“ Keep it heavy, ” said Tribune guitarist Terry Anderson, running on three hours sleep.
“ If you are making your own metal, you’ve got to love it,” he continued.
He has been rocking with Tribune since forming the band back in 2004.
They released their most recent CD “Tales,” last year.
“It is a lot more cohesive than the last CD. Though we still put a lot of work into it,” he said.
“On the last CD “ Elder Lore and the Dark Arts, we had songs we had written five years before, some even before the ‘Rotting Core’ Ep,” he said.
“ This one has more of a melodic death metal feel. There are a lot of harmonized guitars with me and Shawn (Culley) are playing different things so the songs are really spread out. We really dig harmonized guitars,” he continued.
Lead singer Bryan Baker wrote the lyrics.
“He does a lot of reading. He is inspired by good fantasy and fiction,” Anderson continued, noting the works of H.P Lovecraft, Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein and even Homer’s “The Odyssey” and others as a few of the lyrical influences.
Drummer Jason Brown and bassist Ryan O’Shea complete Tribune’s line up.
“We’re going to throw down,” he said of their Lethbridge show.
“ If you like heavy metal, and even if you don’t, you will probably like us,” he continued.
There is a $10 cover for the April 26 show at the Slice.
