Dave McCann releases new CD for intimate audience

People stayed home  last weekend as even Dave McCann and the Firehearts, who usually sell out their local shows,  couldn’t catch a break on the weekend.

It didn’t stop the local alt country troubadour and his band from tearing it up for 25 people, June 6 at the Slice.

“ We’ll be playing everything from  a bunch of old ones to some you've never heard before and some even we've never done,” McCann summarized from the stage.

McCann started off playing electric guitar on a couple of new tracks, including “Wooden Wing”  then switched to acoustic for a couple of older songs including “Road To Cain”  and one of my favourites “ Fireheart.”

After that  he concentrated on new songs from his brand new CD “Circle of Light” including the title track and “Lend Myself to love,” w for which he tried to get the audience to sing along.

One brand new song, ‘Sparrow” in the second set featured a beautiful  slide guitar solo by Dave Bauer. Pete Loughlin also played guitar while Brian Sovereign plucked a six string bass as drummer Tim Williams locked into  the groove.
