Papa King and friends bid adieu to Düus

E-mail Print PDF

Papa King and Evan Uschenko bid farewell to fellow bluesman Daryll  Düus at their final show before Düus moves west, at Jimmy's Pub and Brasserie, Aug. 9.
Evan Uschenko, Papa King, Darryl Düus. photo by Richard AmeryThey played a tight set of acoustic blues though Uschenko and Düus took turns playing solos and singing lead. Uschenko sang  Canned Heat's version of On The Road Again.”

“Work” was a standout as was King' cover of Muddy Waters'  “All My Love In Vain.”

Düus ended the set I caught with a  fitting version of “ I Get By With A Little Help from My Friends.”
