If you like big rock with a touch of pop, don’t miss Victoria pop rock band Isobel Trigger making their first visit to Alberta and Lethbridge with a show at the Slice, Oct. 2.

They will be playing with Edmonton pop rock band Rend who are also exploring new ground in support of their new CD “Winter to Summer” and local indie rock band the Utilities. In a slightly different vein, local rock band The Dirti Speshuls play a rare local show at the Slice, Oct. 4 with the Delawares.

The other big show takes place at the Moose Hall, Oct. 3 featuring Abuse of Substance who opened for MSA a few months ago, Knuckledown, Copsickle, local punks  the Scallywags, Gender Bender and the Space Wolves.

Doors open at 7:30 p.m.. There is a bar available for those over 18. Admission is $15 at the door.

There are also a couple laid back blues shows this week with Calgary blues musician Erin Ross playing  Oct. 3 and Oct. 4 at the Mocha Cabana and local acoustic blues duo Papa King and Evan Uschenko playing Plum, Oct. 4 at  9 p.m.
The other blues show is at the Slice featuring Juno award winning New Brunswick bluesman Keith Hallett, Oct. 6. He just released his new CD “ I Just Lost my Mind.” There is five dollar cover for the show.

The Lethbridge Symphony Orchestra opens up their season on Oct. 6 as well with  their first performance of the year. “Romantic Grandeur” features the symphony performing Anton Bruckner's Symphony No. 4 “The Romantic” and Edvard Grieg's  “Peer Gynt Suites.”

The performance begins at 8 p.m. at Southminster United Church.
There is a lot of comedy this week as well. There is a comedy open mic at inferno, Oct. 2. Yuk Yuk's Comedy returns to Average Joes, Oct. 3 with Sam Easton and The Owl Acoustic Lounge features Edmonton comics’ Clare Belford and Brett McCrindle Blending With the Locals Tourcation featuring local openers Jonathan Grant and Solly.
