Ann Vriend sang beautifully with her inimitably soulful squeal as always while rattling her tambourine. Rooster Davis played toe tapping riffs on the piano and added harmonies.

The second set featured more piano  and Dixieland  New Orleans trombone and several songs from the band’s new CD  “For Saints and Sinners.”

While Ann Vriend sang several songs, she stepped baBrad Shigeta playing trombine with the Rooster Davis group, June 25. Photo by Richard Ameryck and let rooster take the lead on a great version of blues classic St. James Infirmary which tarted slowly as he couldn't remember the words to start.

Vriend rejoined them for an excellent version of another blues and gospel classic “Down by The Riverside.”

They branched out a little more in the second set by adding some Ray Charles and a few other revamped covers.
