Driving While Blind back on stage at Honker’s Pub

E-mail Print PDF

I haven’t seen local blues rock band Driving While Blind for a while, so I made a point of checking them out at Honker’s Pub on Friday, March 18.

I arrived in the middle of one of my favourite covers,  “Going Down.” They played a lot of blues infused rock and roll including “Rocking In the Free World”  which drew a lot of applauseDriving While Blind playing Honker’s Pub, March 18. Photo by Richard amery and an excellent version of AC DC’s “Live Wire” sung with Driving While Blind frontman Frank Gutjahr’s  Bon Scott influenced snarl.

In addition to ’70s blues rock, they also played more traditional blues like “Sweet Home Chicago.” and “ I Just Want to Make Love to You.”
