Adequate entertain full house with whole lot of funk

E-mail Print PDF

Adequate always put on a show. This time, though playing in the dark, they also had a psychedelic  light show at the Owl Acoustic Lounge, Jan 14 to go along with a room full of sweaty dancers.

The place was packed as it usually is for  the local funk/rock/ R and b Adequate’s Keenan Pezderic entertaining a crowd at the Owl. Photo by Richard Amerytrio. I caught them on a set break but hung out for a few songs in their next set.

They usually switch instruments throughout their set, I caught Scott Mezei on drums, Keenan Pezderic on bass and vocals and guitarist  Thorlakson plus Dustin Gergel adding extra percussion as they played an array of hot, sweaty ’70s and ’80s R and B and funk fuelled hits like “Play That Funky Music, White Boy,” “Funky Town,” and “Low Rider.”

They played  a tight set with plenty of toe tapping groove and a whole lot of fun.
