It is always a party when AC DC tribute Who made Who comes to town. They returned to Average Joes, Friday, April 27. The popular tribute played all of AC DC’s best known songs as well as deeper cuts looking and sounding almost exactly like the original band right down to the Angus Young Gibson SG and Malcolm Young’s Gretsch.
The frontman dressed like Back In Black era Brian Johnson and sounded like him on songs like “Sink the Pink” but also pulled off some impressive Bon Scott style vocals on songs like “Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap and “Jailbreak.”
The lead guitarist wore Angus Young’s schoolboy shorts and jacket uniform while wielding his SG like a boss. He did a bit of duckwalking and played a whole lot of rock.
They played newer tracks like “Rock or Bust” and long lost gems like “Big Gun” from Last Action Hero.
I haven’t seen local ’’80s/’90s rock quartet Uncovered, especially since Alison Hawkins joined the band.
They opened the set with their usual strong stripped down set of mostly ’90s rock and roll covers.
Hawkins allows the band to expand their ’90s repertoire to include some of the beloved females of the day like Alanis Morrisette, Roxette and Sass Jordan.
A highlight was Holly McNarland’s “Numb,” though they also did a solid job of Alanis Morissette’s “Jagged little Pill.”
