Things got a little loud and yet groovy with Guelph, Ontario’s Whoop Szo at the Owl Acoustic lounge, Saturday, Sept. 7.
The Owl had a good sized, enthusiastic crowd enjoying Whoop Szo’s eclectic set of stoner rock and indie rock along the lines of Queens of the Stone Age.
They set down some huge, slow grooves powered by rumbling bass, but also played ambient textures full of delay laden guitars and subtle synthesizers.
For a contrast, they moved into more trippy, psychedelic rock grooves later in the set.
